William Ennis “Bill” Turner was called home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Madison Home Place in Madison, MS.
He was born May 18, 1929, to Ennis and Roberta Tolar Turner of Ethel, MS. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Donald Ray Turner, and by his wife of sixty-eight years, Hugh Ella White Turner, also of Ethel, MS.
He was valedictorian of his graduating class from Ethel High School. He and his family lived in Jackson, MS, as he worked for Illinois Central Railroad and Canadian National Railroad for 40 years and retired in December 1988, after which he and his wife relocated to Madison, MS. He was an active member of North Park Presbyterian Church, Jackson, MS, for almost 50 years where he served as Deacon and Elder. He also was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and Highlands Presbyterian Church in Ridgeland, MS.
Mr. Turner is survived by daughters Donna Kruger of Germantown, TN, Pamela Claire Flynt (Richard) of Germantown, TN, and Roberta Lovelace of Madison, MS; grandchildren William Kyle (Melissa), Jeremy Kyle, Jonathan Turner Flynt (Libby), Richard Walker Flynt, Nick Lovelace (Briana) and Claire Lovelace Brock (Parker); and six great-grandchildren.
Rev. Earl Adams will conduct a graveside service at Stonewall Cemetery in Ethel, MS, on Friday, October 17, 2025.
