William "Billy" Garvis Wilson, Jr.

William “Billy” Garvis Wilson, Jr., 72, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at University of Mississippi Medical Center Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial at New Salem Cemetery. Rev. Donald Self will officiate the services.

Billy was born on September 17, 1953, to William Garvis Wilson, Sr. and Peggy Ann Evans Wilson in Attala County. He was self employed as a business entrepreneur. Billy found joy in restoring and admiring old cars, listening to music that marked different moments of his life, and spending time in the kitchen cooking for others. He took pride in working with his hands, always eager to take on a new project or improve something around him. Whether focusing on a detailed task or operating his Bobcat on a new endeavor, he approached each project with dedication and a quiet sense of satisfaction.

Billy is survived by his daughters, Genny (Scott) Chamblee of Kosciusko and Kelly (Mike) Yates of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Mia Munoz, Matthew Chamblee, and Katherine Kennedy; great-granddaughter, Sunny Young; brother, Jessie Joe (Tracey) Wilson of Carmack community; and sister, Sharon (Jr.) James of Carmack community.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William Wilson, Sr. and Peggy Evans Willson, his wife, Billie Jean Wilson and his son, Josh Wilson.

Serving as pallbearers are James Greene, Paul Bingham, Joe Wilson, Matthew Chamblee, Jonathan Steed, and Jason Armstrong. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Scott Chamblee, Mike Yates, and Junior James.
