William "Bill" Rutledge

May 11, 1941 — January 31, 2023

William “Bill” Rutledge, 81, of Kosciusko, Mississippi passed away January 31, 2023, at his residence. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2023, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday at the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Fortenberry and Rev. Ethan Wade officiating the services.


Bill was born May 11, 1941, in Neshoba County, Mississippi to Clarence James Rutledge and Vera Andree Jinkins Rutledge. He was a member of Wake Forest United Pentecostal Church and the owner and operator of Bill’s Electric for many years.


Bill is survived by his wife, Peggy Rutledge of Kosciusko, Mississippi; daughters, Carla Collins of Florida, Karen Hearn of Tupelo, Kim Hitchcock of Tupelo, and Teresa (Brian) Lindsey of Brandon; son, Alex Alexander; step-children Terry Shaw, and Stephenia Jones ; brothers, Joe Rutledge of Philadelphia, MS, Randy Rutledge of Greenville, MS, Pete Rutledge of Belzoni, MS; sister, Ada O’Neal of Greenville, MS; 11 grandchildren, and step-grandchildren Chandler Shaw, Preston Shaw, Amber Blocker, and Robert Willis; 10 great-grandchildren and Rivers Blocker, Levee Willis, Reid Blocker, and Rylee Blocker; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence James Rutledge and Vera Andree Jinkins Rutledge; six siblings, Beatrice Steelman, James “Bud” Rutledge, Mary Busby, Louis Rutledge, Margie R. Rutledge, and Walter Rutledge; granddaughter, April Rodriguez; and step-son Shane Tarpley.
