Wade Breazeale, Jr.

Wade Spurgeon Breazeale Jr., 82, passed away peacefully July 18, 2026, at the home of his son in Florence, Alabama, surrounded by the love of his family.

Wade was born on January 13, 1944, in Attala County to Wade Spurgeon Breazeale, Sr., and Frances Pybas Breazeale.

Wade earned his bachelor’s and master's degree from Mississippi College and enjoyed a successful 47-year career as a computer programmer. After retiring, he moved to Ethel, Mississippi, where he found great contentment in the peaceful country life he cherished.

More than any accomplishment, Wade treasured his family more than anything. He is survived by his devoted son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Dionne Breazeale. His greatest joy was being "Papabear " to his granddaughters, Kade Breazeale (Mason McCormick) of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; Alexis Breazeale (Quaide Mitchell) of Birmingham, Alabama; and Brynn Breazeale of Birmingham, Alabama. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Delilah and Swayze McCormick, who brought endless smiles to his heart.

He is also survived by his brother, Tommy Breazeale of Portland, Oregon, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Daniel Eric Breazeale; his parents, Wade and Frances Breazeale; his sister, Estelle Adams Becton; and his brothers, David Breazeale and Paul Breazeale.

Wade's greatest legacy was not found in his career but in the life he lived. He was a faithful servant of God who shared his faith through his peaceful spirit, gentle heart, words of wisdom, and daily example. His kindness, humility, and steadfast love left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Wade’s joyful personality and his presence was often highlighted with an audible humming and infectious laughter.

A graveside service will be held at the Breazeale Cemetery 31899 MS-14, Kosciusko, Mississippi 39090, Friday, July 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to French Camp Academy, 1 Fine Place, French Camp, Mississippi 39745.
