Thomas "Tommy" Owen Horn, Sr.

Thomas “Tommy” Owen Horn, Sr., 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church Flora beginning with visitation at 1:00 pm and funeral at 2:00 pm. Burial service will follow at 4:00 pm at Good Hope Cemetery in Leake County. Reverend Rickey Blythe will be the officiant.

Tommy was born on July 28, 1946, to parents E.J. “Buddy” and Violet Horn. Mr. Horn grew up in the Marydell community and in Carthage, Mississippi. He graduated from Carthage High School and married his high school sweetheart from Good Hope, Patricia Ann Lay on December 18, 1966. After graduating from The University of Mississippi pharmacy school, they moved to Jackson, then Flora where he owned and operated Flora Discount Drugs. Tommy loved his customers and continued working at Fred’s pharmacy after selling his building downtown.

Tommy loved Ole Miss sports and most anything outdoors. He especially enjoyed time with his family at “The Place” and fishing with his brother-n-law and partner-in-crime, Jerry Lay.

He is survived by his son, Tom (Laura) Horn, daughter, Julie (Jackson) Jordan; and five adoring grandchildren: Owen (fiancé- Emily) Horn, Suzanna Horn, Allie Horn, Julianna Jordan, and Jack Jordan

Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Patricia Horn.

Serving as pallbearers are Owen Horn, Jack Jordan, Jackson Jordan, Bubba Boone, Schaun Goodson, and Jason Perry. 

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jerry Lay, Dr. Paul Welch, Carleton Brock, Ray Brock, Millard Brock, Carl Sherman, and Kennth Ross.
