Reba Goss of Williamsville, Mississippi passed away April 8, 2026, in Morehead, Kentucky. Visitation will be held April 25, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm at the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Parkway Cemetery.
Married in April of 1923, Robert Duff Lindsay with his lovely wife Martha Tingle made their journey to Williamsville by wagon, coming from Neshoba County. They carried with them in that wagon all of their earthly possessions. God blessed them with children: Lanelle, Guyton, Frank, Ora, Max, and Manza, who died as an infant. It was on January 17, 1934, that they welcomed a 12-pound breech baby girl, Reba Joyce. After that difficult delivery, Martha went on to have two more daughters, Patsy and Mary.
While a student at Holmes Junior College Reba Joyce met Ronald Bryan Goss of Itta Bena. They fell in love and eloped in 1953. The unexpected news brought tears to Reba’s family, and in later years, she would often say that if she had it to do over, she would have chosen a traditional wedding.
Reba and Ronald were blessed with three children: Rebecca, Ron, and Frank.
At the age of 37, Reba experienced the most significant moment of her life—she came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. This transformation forever changed her perspective. She developed an insatiable desire to know Him more deeply and cherished His Word. Speaking about her faith became a natural and constant part of her life.
She learned to pray and became known as a prayer warrior.
Of the many prayers that God answered was the salvation of Ronald, Rebecca, Ron, and Frank! What a miracle!!
When Reba was faced with learning to live without Ronald in the fall of 2020 her favorite verses until her home-going were Isaiah 41:10, 13.
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
“For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
Each night, she prayed these verses with her dear friend, Shirley Davis of Memphis over the telephone. She always spoke of these verses as God’s promises to her.
In December of 2025 Reba went to live with Frank and his family in Owingsville, Kentucky. She was deeply loved and cared for. Each day, one of the granddaughters would spend time with her, often bringing their children along. These visits were a great blessing and brought her much joy. Her face would light up. Every day brought more joy and immense satisfaction.
Reba’s homegoing though difficult, was spent surrounded by family and friends. They sang hymns, prayed, and wept tears of sadness as well as joy.
God answered her prayers from Isaiah 41:10,13. She faced that moment with courage and peace. God removed all her fears, strengthened her and held her in His arms as she drew her last breath. Her next breath was in Heaven.
Among her final words were these, spoken with love: “Tell Mary she is my very beloved sister.” That is Mary Eskew, her sister and neighbor.
Reba Lindsay Goss went to be with her Lord on April 8th at 10:03 am. in Morehead, Kentucky. She is home.
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
—2 Corinthians 5:8
“Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.”
—John 17:24
