Philip Joseph Williams, 78, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his residence. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2026, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2025, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Parkway Cemetery. Rev. LaVerne Summerlin will officiate the services.
Philip was born on March 14, 1947, to Thomas Earl Williams and Lola Esther Smith Williams in Mississippi. He served 6 years in the United States Airforce Reserve and retired as a Railroad Tack Inspector after 25 years. Philp had a passion for racecars and he enjoyed building furniture. Philip was a supporter of Kosciusko Whippets and Ole Miss.
Philip is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Mary Williams of Kosciusko, Mississippi; brother, Donald Thomas (Katherine) Williams of Kosciusko, Mississippi; 5 nephews and 3 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Neva Jean (Huey) Summerlin.
The family wishes a special thanks to his dear friends Larry Stevens, Rita Brown, Henry Brantley; his caregivers, Tony Brooks, Cheri Vance, and Keisha Wilder; and all the firefighters serving at the Kosciusko Fire Station.
Serving as pallbearers are Greg Summerlin, Craig McCool, Brandt McCool, Henry Brantley, and Tony Brooks.
