Peggy Pettit Atwood, age 83, passed away on March 21, 2014. A lifelong native of Kosciusko, Peggy was born on December 22, 1930, to the late Graydon and Catherine Pettit. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and served in the nursery there for many years. Peggy was an avid bridge player and was a member of several local clubs throughout her life. She also enjoyed reading and watching basketball. She is preceded in death by her parents Graydon and Catherine Pettit. She is survived by her five daughters, Louanne Atwood Comfort and husband Ricky of Kosciusko; Laura Atwood Blocker of Houston, Texas; Linda Atwood Chipley and husband Webb of Kosciusko; Lana Atwood Davis and husband Don of Ridgeland; and Lisa Atwood Milam and husband Jay of Madison. Her sister Jean Pettit Atwood of Kosciusko also survives her. She enjoyed nine grandchildren; Ryan Comfort, Courtney Comfort, Chase Chipley, Chelsea Hood, Quentin McRee, Meagan Ramage, Caroline Morris, Katie Morris, Jake Milam and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS, with memorial service to follow. The service will be officiated by Brother Barry Corbett. Burial will follow at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko.
