Peggy Darlene Oakes

Peggy Darlene Oakes, 76, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel.

Peggy was born on May 26, 1950, to Willis Eugene Dewitt and Evelyn Lucille Duhamel DeWitt in Ohio. She retired from manufacturing factory. Peggy loved her dolphins and cats.

Peggy is survived by her sons, John Oakes and Tommy Oakes of Kosciusko, Mississippi; daughter, Evelyn Desiree Moore of Carthage, Mississippi; grandchildren, Anthony Oakes, Lucy Pracht, Patrick Halderman, Alyssa Oakes, and Vada Freshour; great-grandchildren, Eli Oakes, Lucas Oakes, Madi Oakes, Peyton Pracht, and Walker Dell Bradford; brothers, Larry Dewitt and Bob Dewitt; and sisters, Phyllis Carnes, Gayle Carroll, and Kelly Musser.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Dewitt and Evelyn Duhamel Dewitt, and brothers, Gary Dewitt and Dave Dewitt.
