Mavis, lovingly called Gee Gee by her family, was preceded in death by her husband, Ret. Col. Bennett W. Alford, in 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Alford Champagne (wife to Lynn); her three grandchildren: Michael (husband to Nicole), David (husband to Jodi), and Julie; plus her four great-grandchildren: Kylee, James, Amy, and Matthew. Mavis lit up a room with her vivacious personality and her love of life! Her joys were reading, cooking, dancing, Christmas, the color red, making sure her yard and house were immaculate, playing bridge, and loving her family and friends.
