Mary Mangrum Hughes

Mary Alice Mangrum Hughes, 91, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Neshoba County Nursing Home. Graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Corinth Baptist Church in Leake County, Mississippi.

Mary was born on December 2, 1934, to Hiley William Rawson and Sarah Missouri Parker Rawson in Singleton Community in Leake County. Mary was a member of Remus Baptist Church since 2008, prior to being a member at Springdale Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her garden and her yard when she was able to.

Mary is survived by her sons, Ken (Phyllis) Mangrum of Union, Mississippi and Keith (Betty) Mangrum of Kosciusko, Mississippi; daughter, Kim (Thomas) Van Devender of Kosciusko, Mississippi; brother, Hiley William (PeeWee) (Sara) Rawson, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiley William Rawson and Sarah Parker Rawson, husbands, Thomas Mangrum and Frank Hughes, son, Frankie Hughes, brother, Elton, and sisters, Jean, Nancy, Jolyn, and Suzi.
