Lisa Powell Moore, 55, of Thomastown, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in a car accident. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Thomastown Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Thomastown Baptist Church with burial at Moore Family Cemetery. Rev. Waygon Sanders will officiate the services.
Lisa was born on June 11, 1970, to her parents, Donald Joseph Powell and Linda Cox Powell in Jackson, Mississippi. She enjoyed participating in the Jr. High and High School Rodeo. Lisa was crowned Miss Dixie National in 1986 and was named High School Rodeo Queen in 1987. She graduated from Tri-County Academy in 1988. She furthered her education and graduated from Mississippi State University in 1993. On March 6, 1993, Lisa married the love of her life, Scott Moore. Lisa was a marketing consultant for Boswell Media. She was an active member and a Sunday School teacher at Thomastown Baptist Church. Lisa was a proud grandmother to Harper Moore and Westin McDill.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Scott Moore of Thomastown, Mississippi; son, Justin (Haley) Moore of Carthage, Mississippi; daughter, Morgan (Hunter) McDill of Florence, Mississippi; grandchildren, Harper Moore and Westin McDill; mother, Linda Powell of Madison, Mississippi; brother, D.J. (Kristin) Powell of Madison, Mississippi; sister, Dottie Powell of Summerland Key, Florida; mother-in-law, Bit Moore of Thomastown, Mississippi; brother-in-law, Paul Moore; sister-in-law, Misty (Wade) Moore; nieces, Sadie Powell, Makenzie Moore, and Ally Moore; and nephews, Joseph Powell, Kevin Moore, Colby Moore, Isaac Moore, and Preston Moore.
She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Powell, and father-in-law, Anthony Moore.
Serving as pallbearers are Isaac Moore, Preston Moore, Justin Moore, D.J. Powell, Hunter McDill, Colby Moore, Kevin Moore, and Joseph Powell. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Webb Bozeman, Harvey Bozeman, D.R. Bozeman, Scott Kiger, Percy Quinn, and Stead Kiger.
