Lester Earl Burkes

Mr. Burkes was born September 24, 1936, in McCool, to Tilmon and Eva Eakin Burkes. He was a mechanic and an avid fisherman. Those surviving him are his son, Lester Eugene (Lorretta Lynn) Burkes, of McCool; daughter, Glenda Kaye (Timothy Lee) Tuell, of Rockford, AL; two granddaughters, Heather Marie Thomas and Megan Brianna Barnes; a brother, Ennis Lamar Burkes, of Lexington; and a sister, Mary Sue Wood of McCool; and his beloved dog, Rita B. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Virginia Bardin, Martha Lou Jennings, Faye Yelverton, Laverne Burkes, and Ernest Burkes. Pallbearers are Tilmon Burkes, Quentin Burkes, Ryan Moyer, Mike Hutchison, James Faulkner, and Tim Tuell.
