John David Oakes

John David Oakes, Jr, 67, of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., December 27, 2025, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Brister Cemetery. Randy Rhodes will officiate the services.

John was born November 20, 1958, to John David Oakes, Sr. and Shirley Jean Ervin in Pittsburg. He was in Maintenance. John loved to fish, go boating, and bowling.

John is survived by his son, John Kevin (Kassie) Oakes of Louisville, North Carolina; grandson, Jude Oakes; sister, Lena Spears of Cordova, Tennessee; and aunts Pearline Cummins and Betty Long.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John David Oakes, Sr. and Shirley Jean Ervin, sisters, Shirley Davis and Sharon Johnson.
