Joel Simmons Thayer, 60, died Tuesday, June16, 2015 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Memorial services are 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19 at Doty Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Junior Davis will officiate. Survivors include his parents, Gary and Priscilla Simmons Thayer; brother, Dirk (Janet) Thayer of Kosciusko; sisters, Selina Thayer of Marietta, GA and Regina Self (Sandy) Pinson of AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death a sister, Christina Carroll.
