Jimmy Dale Reynolds, 85, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away on January 30, 2026. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at Jordan Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Randy Rhodes will officiate.
Jimmy was born on February 4th, 1940, to Felty Iverson Reynolds and M Breazeale Reynolds. He graduated from Ethel High School. He later attended Holmes Junior College, after which he earned a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University. He also served in the Army and was a member of MENSA, among many other accomplishments.
He had various occupations in his younger years, some of which included working on a tugboat on the Mississippi River, maintenance and repair for a carpet manufacturer, private detective for a company out of Florida, Lab Technician for an agriculture lab in Georgia, draftmans for an oil company, etc. He worked with computers for Hughes Tools in Houston, Texas, and he also traveled and installed and worked on computer systems for a large bank in Georgia. Later, he moved back to the Mississippi coast where he was employed in Data Processing for Litton Shipbuilders. In the 90’s, he worked for Beech Aerospace before becoming employed by the State of Mississippi Personnel Board as a manager of Data Systems, from which he retired.
Jimmy loved life and was always ready for a road trip or adventure. He had many hobbies, which included reading, painting, drawing, rockhounding, etc. He often recalled how he loved to start his day as a child building toy airplanes in the yard. He later spent many years reading about and studying various aircraft. He took flying lessons in the 90’s and completed some solo flights. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Reynolds Chennault; granddaughters, Brandolynn Ellard, Laci Ellard, Stephanie Chennault; and grandson, Reynolds (Hunter) Chennault; great-granddaughters, Jaycee Baker and Lennon Miller; brothers, Bobby Kenneth Reynolds; nephew, Gregory Reynolds, niece, Lucinda Reynolds Brooks; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, M Breazeale Reynolds, his father, Felty Iverson Reynolds, his brother, Billy Iverson Reynolds, and his sister-in-law, Thelma Chamber Reynolds.
Serving as pallbearers will be Reynolds (Hunter) Chennault, Matthew Cook, John (Matt) Miller, Jimmy Breazeale, Dathan Breazeale, and Danny Kimbrough.
