Freddie Bell Hearon

Freddie Bell Hearon, 86, of Ethel, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at her residence. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2026, and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Matt Steed will officiate the services.

Freddie was born on August 19, 1939, to Fred Glass McWhorter and Buna Bell McWhorter in Attala County, Mississippi. She grew up as a farmer’s daughter in Ethel, enjoying the simple country life where she attended Ethel Schools. Freddie married Charlie (J.D.) Hearon and spent 57 years together building a beautiful life together in Ethel with their family. She never missed a moment to show love and kindness, and to take pride in her flowers and her work. She also loved hummingbirds and feeding the wildlife.

Freddie was a member of Ethel Baptist Church, where she served as the church secretary for 25 years, and Eastern Star (Lodge in Ethel). She worked for Durant Sportswear for 20 years before going to work with the United States Postal Service. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 20 years, showing how much she cared about and was dedicated to the community and country she lived in. Freddie will be remembered by her family as a Jesus-loving, wonderful, sweet, honest, caring, compassionate, attentive, loving, patient, and beautiful daughter, sister, wife, mom, and grandmother.

Freddie is survived by her sons, Randy (Jan) Hearon of Ethel, and Andrew (Linda) Hearon of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Randy C. (Dana) Hearon, Jr., Juston Drake Hearon, Charles (Angel) Clemons, Crystal Belle (Robby) Thornton, and Adam Stone Hearon; and brother, James Pinkney McWhorter of Pearl.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred McWhorter and Buna Bell McWhorter, her husband, Charlie (J.D.) Hearon, great-granddaughter, Danielle Ables, sister, Sarah, and sister-in-law, Barbara McWhorter.

Serving as pallbearers are Steve McWhorter, Juston Hearon, Christopher Woodson, Robby Thornton, Randy Hearon, Jr., and James Hearon. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Adam Hearon, Mason Jordan, Ted Dempsey, and Allen Hearon.
