Frankie Cook Dorsey passed away peacefully at her home on December 14, 2025, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, surrounded by the love and comfort of her husband of 58 years. She was 80 years old.

Frankie was born on January 4, 1945, to the late Clay and Doris Cook and was raised in the Barnes community. She graduated from Barnes High School, where the strong values of faith, family, and hard work that guided her life were firmly rooted.

Throughout her life, Frankie was known for her dedication and professionalism. She began her career working in administrative services for Mrs. Baird’s Bread in Houston, Texas, before returning home to Mississippi, where she devoted more than 40 years to the banking industry. She served faithfully as a teller at The Attala Bank, continued her career with Deposit Guaranty National Bank, and later with Citizens National Bank, where she oversaw daily banking operations. Frankie was respected for her integrity, reliability, and steady leadership.

Above all, Frankie cherished her family. She especially loved spending time talking with her grandchildren and took great interest in their lives and activities. When she wasn’t working at the bank, she could often be found helping in the family flower shop, offering her time and talents with the same care she showed in all she did.

Frankie was a faithful member of Redbud Springs Cornerstone Church in Kosciusko, Mississippi, where her love for the Lord and her quiet servant’s heart were evident to all who knew her. Her life was a reflection of her faith, lived through kindness, humility, and devotion to others.

She is survived by her loving husband, Lailon Dorsey; her daughter, April Dorsey Benham (Bill); her son, Ashley Dorsey (Mary); and her beloved grandchildren, Olivia and Ethan. Frankie’s legacy of faith, love, and steadfast devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Scripture

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.”—
