Floyd Lee Edwards Ethel Floyd Lee Edwards, 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the Attala County Nursing Center in Kosciusko. Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Monday, November 11 at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Carson Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Grant Gregory will officiate. Floyd is a veteran of the United States Airforce. Floyd worked in the printing industry in Jackson, MS, Jacksonville FL, Tampa FL, and Memphis, TN, he was employed by the Memphis Commercial Appeal and Quebecor International in Memphis, TN, and was a proud union member before his retirement. He enjoyed farming his land on weekends and could grow anything, Floyd was a member of New Life Church in Kosciusko, where he volunteered for the food pantry for many years to help the locals. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone he knew and prided himself on being a Christian. Hunting, fishing and being with family were some key things in his life, he had a love of cars, motorcycles and attending church. Born in 1930 and rising from the Great Depression was among his favorite stories, as well as, running a dairy farm and planting and growing fruit and vegetables. Floyd and Vallie Bain met at church and married and have remained together in holy matrimony for 63 years. His sense of humor, mechanical skills, and love of history will be missed. Survivors include his wife, Vallie Bain Edwards; daughters, Vicki Edwards-House of Summerfield, NC and Rebecca Edwards-Manshel of New Orleans, LA; and grandchildren, Jessica Olberding, Daniel Lee Bareswilt, Rebekah Bareswilt, all of Florida, Daniel Edward Swanson and Rachel Swanson of Alaska; sister, Lois Moore and husband, Gordon of Purvis, MS; and many nieces, nephews, and other family in Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Annie Veazey Edwards; daughter, Sheree Edwards Bareswilt; and sister, Aleen Robinson.
