Mr. Eugene “Gene” R. Youngblood, 86, of Kosciusko, left this world January 20, 2024 to go to his eternal heavenly home.
Gene was born July 22, 1937 in Plain, MS to Carl Davis and Blanche Rogers Youngblood.
He served in the United States Army and was offered a job at the Pentagon but he chose to stay close to family and marry the love of his life.
He worked at Wambles Machine Shop before retiring from Central Fabricators.
Gene was a welder and was well known with how talented he was.
He was an artist at heart, drawing, sculpting, carving is just a few of the talents he had, he could do anything.
He loved to fish, and the pure beauty of nature.
He loved planting and working in his garden every year, he could grow anything.
Everything he did he put his heart and soul in it.
Up until his passing he was always such a hard worker, there are not many men who work like Gene did.
Above everything he was a loving and caring husband and daddy, he was our protector and our rock.
He leaves behind his family, wife of 57 years, Elaine Ellington Youngblood; daughters, Candace Youngblood of Madison, MS, Amy Settlemir and husband Todd of Kosciusko, MS and Holly Lindsey and husband Mark of Kosciusko, MS; grandchildren, Bella Settlemir, Ethan Settlemir and Lane Thomas Lindsey; nephew, Alan Youngblood and wife Julie of Casselberry, FL; niece, Debi Wynn of Poinciana, FL.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Carl Youngblood and his wife Bettye and Tommy Youngblood.
Gene was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
Bro. Eddie Pearce and Bro. Glen Ellington will officiate services.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel.
Burial to follow at Parkway Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Todd Settlemir, Mark Lindsey, Ethan Settlemir, Dana O’Briant, Billy Atwood, Frank Montague and Johnalan Lindsey.
Honorary pallbearers are Berlie Tindoll and Rayborn White.
