Carol Gregg Mims Carmack Community April 26, 1928 – September 14, 2021 Carol Gregg Mims, 93, passed into heaven on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Hebron Baptist Church in Montgomery County. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service, also at Hebron Baptist Church. Carol was a beloved mother leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and laughter to all who knew her. Her role as mother, servant, and selfless giver took precedence over any other aspirations she ever had. She retired as a nurse assistant from Winona Nursing Home and Tyler Holmes Hospital in Winona, but most of her life was raising her children and serving her family. She served her church at Hebron and her community at Carmack Community Club. She was a well-loved friend to every generation of the community as well as to her many relatives. Mrs. Mims is survived by three sons; Gerry Mims (Judy) of Kosciusko, MS; Chris Mims (Gloria) of Benton, AR; Mickey Mims (Lesia) of Vaiden, MS; and one daughter; Nancy Carol Mims of St. Petersburg, FL; two sisters, Shirley Floyd (John) of Memphis, TN and Toni Rainey (Paul) of Boyle, MS; six grandsons; Matt Mims (Janelle), Ben Mims, Eric Mims, Josh Mims (April) , Wes Mims (Brooke), Mike Mims (Nicole), and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as a host of special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Leonard Mims; parents, Robert and Vesta Gregg; seven siblings, Thelma Gilley, Evelyn Smith, Naomi White, Harvis Gregg, Billie Day, and Bonnie Duke. Memorials may be made to Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 392 Bogasha Rd., Vaiden, MS 39176.
