Burl Lamar Hodge, Jr., 78, of Ethel, Mississippi passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Carson Ridge Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Carson Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Matt Steed is officiating the services.
Burl was born April 27, 1947, to Burl Lamar Hodge, Sr. and Bobbie Nell Steed Hodge in Mississippi. He was self employed as a truck driver.
Burl is survived by his sons, Robert Sarri, Joe (Shelly) Sarri, Tommy Sarri, and Timmy Hodge; daughter, Tammy Ables; grandchildren, Colby (Mandy) Pettit, Tyler Pettit, Kasey (Ethan) Dees, Robert (Sky) Sarri, Joel Sarri, Kyle Sarri, and Seth Sarri; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Case, Camden, Emmarie, Landon, Braylee, and Myla; brothers, Homer Lee (Nora) Hodge, Bobby (Joe) Hodge, and Charlie Hodge; and sister, Debbie Tanksley.
He was preceded in death by father, Burl Hodge, mother, Tommie Nell, wife, Gail Hodge, and brother, Jimmie Hodge.
