Boots McKay

Bula Jenkins McKay (Boots), 75, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, followed by chapel and graveside services. Reverends James Young and Devin Meilstrup will officiate the services.

Boots was born on February 24, 1950, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Claude Lee Jenkins and Mildred Brand Jenkins. Boots spent 3 years with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and 20 years with Allstate Insurance, where she met many of her close friends. She was a member of McAdams Baptist church. She lived in Brookhaven, Mississippi with her husband, Buddy McKay.

Boots is survived by her husband, Buddy McKay; daughter, Andi Boyd; niece, Abi Dearman (Eric, Mckinley, Madelyn); her sister Guinevere Young (James); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Lee Jenkins; mother, Mildred Brand Jenkins; brother, Brand Lee Jenkins; and brother, Andy John Jenkins.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Jenkins, Frank Jenkins, Tim Young, Nestor Leon, Aidan Meilstrup, Zak Meilstrup.
