Barbara Alene Prewitt

Barbara Alene Prewitt, 80, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Attala County Nursing Center. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Jordan Funeral Home. Private family service will be held at a later date.

Barbara was born on July 20, 1945, to her parents, James Howard Schuler and Alvie Virginia Rasberry in Attala County, Mississippi. She was a homemaker and some of her favorite hobbies included gardening, flowers, bird watching, and a passion for drawing and oil paintings. Barbara enjoyed volunteering at the Natchez Trace Info Center educating visitors about Attala County and the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Terri McRae of Kosciusko, Mississippi, Amanda Stroud of Renfroe, Mississippi, and Andi (Chris) Harper of Starkville, Mississippi; grandchildren, Bailey McRae, Madison Stroud, Tre Stroud, Spencer Burden, Luke Harper, Ryan Harper, and Summer Harper; sister-n-law and dear friend, Tina Proctor; and brother-in-law, Tommy Prewitt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Howard Schuler and Alvie Virginia Rasberry Schuler, husband, Vernon Prewitt, and her brother, James Schuler.
