Allen "Snuffy" Payne

Allen "Snuffy" Payne, 84, of Kosciusko, died Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1 at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2 at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Parkway Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Meggs will officiate. Mr. Payne was born Nov. 22, 1929 to Sandy and Etha Payne. He was employed with Superior Coach, a veteran of the United States Air Force, an avid sportsman, a little league coach and a fixture at the Pro Shop of the Red Bud Springs Golf Course. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters. Surviving him are his children, Susan Payne (David) Womack, of Jackson, Tim (Robin) Payne, of Kosciusko, and Christy Payne (Charles) Curry, of Kosciusko; grandchildren, Eric (Victoria) Payne, Olivia Payne and Judson Womack; and a great-grandson, Bryar Payne; and a sister, Georgia Ballard, of Kosciusko. Memorials may be sent to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
