Mr. Pope was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and was a veteran of the United States Army 45th Infantry Division 179th Heavy Tank Company in the Korean War. He loved his farm and taking care of his chickens. His hobbies included hunting and four- wheeler riding. Survivors include his son, Grover Curtis Pope, and wife, Reagan, of Kosciusko; a son-in-law, Robert M. Murphy of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Alicia Marie Murphy, Jessica Leigh Pope, and Curtis Lavon "Curt" Pope; a sister, Opal Shaw of Sebastopol; and a brother, Robert "Bob" Daniel Pope, and wife, Patsy, of Terry. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Curtis and Lora Alma Burkes Pope; daughter, Joan Alicia Pope Murphy; a sister, Ruby Evelyn Pope; and brothers, William Richard Pope and David Lamar Pope. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
